Arrival in Churchill
I have arrived in Churchill. I flew from New York to Chicago to Winnepeg, Manitoba to Churchill. The flight from Winnepeg to Churchill was in a prop plane, but it was a very smooth flight. The weather here is pleasant, it is comfortable with my Scofield sweatshirt. Hopefully the nice weather will stay.
We arrived at the Churchill Northern Studies Centre around 6:00. The first item on the agenda was safety - polar bears are in the area and we cannot go outside alone, we should have a staff member with us. There are bars on all the windows to prevent the bears from breaking in.
We had dinner next. We then received a briefing on the Churchill area and the project. As we were going back to our rooms, we heard that you could see the northern lights. By the time we got out, they had dimmed, but you could see some. I will definitely keep looking each night, but from the safety of the observatory on the roof.
Tomorrow I will show some pictures of the landscape. Can someone describe a tundra to me?

Glad to hear that the weather is warm! I look forward to hearing more!
It's nice to hear that you had a good flight and got to see a little bit of the northern lights, oh about tundras i read that a tundra means a treeless plain and it is noted for it's frost-molded landscapes. I hope this gives you an idea of a tundra.
-Hope you have a nice time. :)

Hi Louise,
Do you have signs that say "Beware of Polar Bears!" or "Polar Bear Crossing!"?
It exciting that we can follow your progress from here.
Can I join you!

The definition of a tundra is the level or nearly level treeless plain between the ice cap and the timber line of North America, Europe, and Asia that has permanently frozen subsoil.Usually it is a treeless area with lots of cold water that has frozen into ice.

It's nice to know that the weather is warm. Hope you're having fun[:
Tundra is a flat plain without trees, in the arctic areas. All year round, the weather is cold.

tundra is an area like a barren or a place with no trees. there are cold&dark winters and cold&bright summers. This is because when the eclipse is towards the southend of the earth, the tundra lacks much light and it is usually dark outside all day long. However, in the summer, when the sunlight is towards sthe northend of the earth, the tundra is bright for almost 20 hours. The tundra is a cold place with frozen dirt, no trees, a short growth season, and many different features of the midearth.
-hope youre having a great time.

I am glad you're having a good time! Anyways, a tundra is a flat and very leveled piece of land, without too many trees, and they are very cold as well.

Glad you had a nice safe flight. About a tundra, a tundra is a treeless plain. It's landscapes are also covered over with frost. This would probably be a good place to find Perma- frost. Enjoy:)
